November/December

November/December

November and December are always busy months for us, with lots of things going on.
There are two birthdays, our wedding anniversary and of course Christmas, to mention a few.

NOVEMBER

Christine's Birthday

We both took the day off for Christine's birthday, so that we could spend some time together - Nathan had also finished exams so was also able to come along.
Christine's friend Acacia baked a birthday cake for her - it was pumpkin spice flavoured, it was delicious!

We decided to try out a new place called Kori Deserts, they do Souffle Pancakes among other things.

We also did dinner at Lone Star - seems to be our go to for celebrations!

20th Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on the 27th of November. Time goes so fast, can't believe its been 20 years already! We both took the day off so that we could spend the day together.
We normally order our wedding cake at our wedding anniversary, however the place we got our wedding cake from has since shut down, so we asked Christine's friend Acacia again to see if she could bake a similar cake for us, and this was the result.

We had Lunch at Little and Local in Snells Beach

After that we went to the Donkeys at Highfield Garden Reserve.

After this we went to a couple of beaches - one of which I had not been to before

DECEMBER

December is a fairly busy month - till we get to after Christmas day, then things slow down a little bit.
This year I have two weeks off (Christmas and New Years weeks), however Christine is working Monday and Tuesday on both those weeks.

Christmas Eve

In December I normally do the Christmas eve service at church - this usually involves a couple of practises, and then two services on Christmas Eve - this year was no different.
I really enjoy doing these services, they are a little bit different an it gives us a chance to try out some new things.
I also think its important for us to go to the Christmas Eve and Christmas service so that we are reminded about the reason for the season.
This year we had three people on the back desk which meant that I really only had to focus on Projection, with a touch of camera work on the side.

Christmas Day

On Christmas day we went to the Christmas service at church at 9.30am, and then had Christmas lunch here from approx 12.30.
I like that we've had Christmas lunch at our place for the last wee while, because it means we don't need to travel anywhere afterwards!
It does mean that we need to do the cleanup etc tho, but thats not too bad.

Nathan's Birthday

Nathan is turned 18 this year! Its another sign of time moving along, just like our wedding anniversary, time is moving too fast 😟

We had a slow morning which was nice, then Nathan wanted to do lunch at Sal's Pizza. After Sal's we went to the Arcade that is near by and played some arcade games.
When we got home Nathan an I played some multiplayer computer games, which was fun - we've not done that in a while!
Dinner was at Denny's with Oliver and Aunty Kathleen.

Well thats November and December pretty much wrapped up, hopefully I have not forgotten anything important - thats the issue with not writing things as they happen!
Some random pictures below from Nov/Dec that didn't make the highlighted ones.

Reflections & looking ahead
2024 was an interesting year - there was a lot going on both at home, and around the world. I guess every year there is a lot going on, and every year we hope/wish a better year the following year - but when we look back at each year,
